Robert E. Lee, age 93, of Chesterton passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at his home.

He was born January 10, 1918 in Chesterton, Indiana, to Stanley and Mary Korotowski Lee both of whom preceded him in death.

On September 1, 1945, at St. Patrick Church in Chesterton, Bob married Mary Gregor Lee who survives in Chesterton.

Also surviving are his loving children, Mary Patricia (Langston) Hayes of Bolingbrook, Ill., Nanette (Larry) Estes of Anniston, Alabama, Robert E. (Francine) Lee of Greys Lake, Ill., loving grandchildren Christine (Mike) Wetzel, Jon Estes, Nathaniel Estes, Heather (Dave) Morgan, Tasha (John) Wilkins, April Popp, Rachael (Jason) Guiden and Daisy Lee and loving great-grandchildren Jaidan, Mary and Gracie Guiden and Chloe Wetzel.

He was preceded in death by his daughters Barbara and Wendy Ann and his brothers Clarence and Walter.

Bob was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, employed at USX (U.S. Steel) for 44 years and a member of Iron and Steel Institute.

Bob’s hobbies included woodworking, making furniture and Christmas ornaments to grace all the family members’ trees.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, October 29, 2011, from St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet, Chesterton at 11:00 a.m., with Father James Meade officiating. Cremation will follow.

The family will receive friends on Friday, October 28, 2011 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton.

Memorials may be given to St. Patrick Church or VNA Hospice.
