Rev. Carolyn Smay services Saturday

Rev. Carolyn Smay, age 69 of Hobart, Ind., passed away on October 12, 2011 at home with her family by her side.

She was born on August 1, 1942 in Norris City, Ill., to Eugene and Wanda (Edwards) Bryant, both of whom preceded her in death.

Carolyn is survived by her three sons, James (Missy) Kennedy of Georgia, Woodrow (Tammy) Kennedy of Georgia and Leonard (Sharon) Kennedy of Lake Station and a daughter, Tammy (Coy) Barber of Hobart. She is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Carolyn was a member of the Family Christian Church and H.O.G. (Harley Owners Group).

She was also a Reverend and loved serving her church and spending time with her family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, Ind., with Pastor William “Dutch” Persuhn officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.

Visitation will be held Saturday, October 15, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. till time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
