Marilyn D. Wigren, 70, of Valparaiso, passed away Saturday, September 10, 2011 at the VNA Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso.

She was born December 9, 1940 in Chesterton, Indiana to Bert and Martha (Matkey) Olson.

On May 13, 1961 at St. Patrick Church in Chesterton, she married Dale A. Wigren who passed away December 3, 2008.

Marilyn is survived by her daughter Lynn Ross of Valparaiso, son Cory (Julie) Wigren of Westville, five grandchildren Teresa, Bobby, Ben, Jessica, and James, her sister Eloise Baadsgaard of Chesterton, as well as many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband Dale, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter Anne Scroggin, granddaughter Mary Ross, brother Glenn and sister-in-law Jeannette Olson.

She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church in Valparaiso. For over 20 years Marilyn worked with her husband Dale in providing care and supplies to those in need in Kentucky and Louisiana.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 15, at the Bartholomew Funeral Home, 102 Monroe St., Valparaiso. Rev. Kevin McCarthy will officiate. Burial will be in Chesterton Cemetery.

Visitation for Marilyn will from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions can be made to VNA Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso.
