Kenneth Castor dies at 69

Kenneth F. Castor, age 69 of Portage, passed away on Friday, October 14, 2011 at his home.

He was born on May 18, 1942 in Gary, Indiana to Frank and Alfreda (Pankiewicz) Castor, both of whom preceded him in death.

Ken is survived by his loving wife, Becky (Harker) Castor of Portage; children, Kim (Dan) Littell of Liberty Twp.; Sean (Daleana) Castor of Valparaiso; step children, Tami (Dan) Beal of Valparaiso; Duncan James of Gary and Larry Widener of Lake Station; nine grandchildren, Tony (Keeli) Littell, Allie Littell, Cory and Destinee Castor, Hailey Whitworth, Jacqueline Cracco, Mariah Richard, Cody and Travis Beal, as well as his brother, Larry (Judi) Castor of Riverside, Calif., sister, Joyce (Ted) Myers of Portage, several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Dennis Castor.

Ken worked as a general manager for Richardsonís Suzuki dealership in Highland.

He was a U.S. Navy Veteran and a member of the American Legion Post #260.

Funeral service were held today, Monday, October 17, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, with Pastor Allen Williams officiating. Burial followed at Heritage Cemetery, Portage.

Visitation was held on Sunday, October, 16, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
