Katherine “Kathy” Marie Allshouse, age 62, of Bullhead City, Arizona, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 in Chesterton.

She was born September 17, 1948 in Dodge City, Iowa, to Hubert and Sally Mae (Golus) Wardyn, who preceded her in death.

Kathy is survived by her former husband of 29 years, James Allshouse of Fort Mohave, Ariz.; daughters (step), Nancy (Brian) Beckley and Linda (Bruce) Waldo, both of Chesterton; brothers, Thomas (Mary) Wardyn of Bayard, Iowa and Richard (Sandy) Wardyn of Guthrie Center, Iowa; sister, Shirley (Dick) Kosmatka of Chesterton; grandchildren, Eric Beckley, Heather Waldo, Keri Beckley and Adam Waldo; nieces and nephews, Angie (Tom) Evans, Dan (Maria) Roths, Dena Roths, Bryan (Shawn) Roths, Jeff Roths and many other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Paul, Gene and Hubert Wardyn; nephew, Dwayne Roths and niece Sherry Kay Wardyn.

Kathy began working with CRST Trucking Company in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and later transferred to the Chicago area location. She later worked for FM Transport in Portage. After moving to Arizona, Kathy worked as a Cage Supervisor for the Golden Nugget Casino in Laughlin, Nev.

Kathy will be sadly missed by all who knew her. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was an avid game player and enjoyed traveling.

A Memorial Visitation will be held Saturday, April 23, 2011 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home.

Kathy requested memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
