Jacqueline Hope Kent passed away on Wednesday, March 16, 2011. She was 76.

Born in Chesterton, she was the daughter of Velma and Joseph Colley. She graduated from Chesterton High School and received a degree in nursing from Presbyterian St. Luke (Rush). She was married for 54 years to John A. Kent, who preceded her in death.

She worked as a registered nurse for more than 20 years, retiring from LaPorte Hospital in 2000. She was an oil painter and a part of the Duneland artsts, showing her art work at many art fairs around northern Indiana. She was an avid gardener, caring mother and devoted wife.

She is survived by sons Greg, Chris and Matt Kent; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jeff.

A memorial service will be held from 3 to 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2 at the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Ave., South Bend.
