Jack K. Cloud, 85, of Jackson Township passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2011
at Porter Hospital Valparaiso Campus.
He was born September 4, 1925 in Madison, West Virginia, to Mason C. and
Berma (Clontz) Cloud, both of whom preceded him in death.
On April 20, 1957 in Central Methodist Church in Charleston, West Virginia
he married Elta Whited Cloud who survives in Jackson Township.
Also surviving are his sons Christopher Cloud of Jackson Township and Craig
(Karol) Cloud of Porter, two step grandchildren, five step
great-grandchildren, sister-in-law Irene Cloud of Bryan, Texas, numerous
nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and special friends, the Arthur Cohan family
of LaPorte.
Jack was preceded in death by his brother Mason Cloud II and sister Ann
Lacaria.
Jack was a life-long Methodist, a member of the First United Methodist
Church of Chesterton, the United Methodist Mens Group and very active in
church choirs through the years.
Jack served in the Navy in World War II, was a member of the Chesterton
Lions Club and Steel Workers Union USWA 6787. Jack volunteered for many
service organizations, giving of himself for the cause, was a very devoted
family man, a good husband and father.
Funeral services will be Saturday, June 25, 2011, at 2:00 p.m. at the First
United Methodist Church of Chesterton, 434 South 2nd St., Chesterton, with
Pastor Chris Newman-Jacobs officiating.
Burial will follow in the Pinhook Cemetery in LaPorte County.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 24, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at
White-Love Funeral Home 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton and Saturday from 1:00
p.m. until time of service at the church. There will be a Lions Club service
at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, June 24.
