Febrolia “Fabby” Jones (nee Kaleta), age 86, of Valparaiso, formerly of Northridge, Calif., and originally from Hegewisch, Ill., passed away on Monday, November 7, 2011.

She is survived by her sister, Adele (late Edward) Lis of Calumet City, and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends.

Fabby was preceded in death by her parents, John and Josephine Kaleta, brothers Alex (Marie) and John (Ethel), sisters Jennie (Stanley) Kulps, Virginia (Walter) Oleksy and Felicia (Raymond) Szot, and nephew Robert Kulps.

Fabby served as a WAVE during World War II. Following her service she moved to California and became a flight attendant with TWA, where she would work until retirement.

Retirement, however, was only a word; as Fabby never truly retired. Besides working various jobs to keep her busy, Fabby traveled the world experiencing destinations and cultures that most only dream of experiencing.

Please join in a celebration of the life of this unique and much loved woman, who will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Memorial Visitation will take place from 10-11 a.m. followed with a Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 12, at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 505 Bullseye Lake Road, Valparaiso, Ind., 46383.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorial donations be made in Fabby’s name to Alzheimer’s Association or to St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, Valparaiso, IN.

Arrangements are being handled by Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.EE-FH.com
