Edna O. Johnson of Chesterton passed away Sunday, March 13, 2011 in Valparaiso. She was 94.

She was born July 24, 1916 in Goin, Tenn. to Alexander and Margaret Nora (Rouse) Goin, who preceded her in death. She was married on May 6, 1937 in Michigan to her loving husband Luther Johnson, who preceded her in death in 1976.

Edna is survived by her daughter, Margaret (husband Gene) Scott of Chesterton; grandchildren Jay Decker and Pam Richardson; great grandchildren Jennifer (Chris) Walker, Amanda (Eric) Kelley, Danielle (Tom) Grobmyer, Michael Decker and Bobby Richardson; and great great grandchildren Destani O’Daniel, Hailey Walker, and one on the way.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.

Edna was an area resident since 1934. She was a wonderful loving mother and grandmother who was devoted to her family.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 17 at 10 a.m. at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage.
