Delores Hancock service set

Former Chesterton resident Delores Hancock of Albion, Ind. passed away Saturday, March 26, 2011 in Valparaiso. She was 82.

Delores was born Dec. 7, 1928 in Chesterton to Chester and Gladys (Klinkman) Miller, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 7, 1961 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Chesterton, she married John Hancock, who survives in Albion.

Also surviving are her daughters Beth Hancock of Austin, Texas and Judy (husband Rob) Ditto of Valparaiso; grandchildren Brendon, Emily and Anna of Valparaiso; and her brother Bill (wife Nancy) Miller of Chesterton.

Delores was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and an Assistant of Nursing at Fountain View Nursing Home in Portage, where she worked for 13 years. In her spare time she enjoyed tending to her garden.

Funeral services will be Thursday, March 31 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 2050 West 1100 North, Chesterton at noon with Pastor Jane Aicher officiating. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Memorials may be made in Delores' name to Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, 926-1309.
