Charles Edward Barney, Jr. ‘Ed’, age 64, of Crown Point, Indiana, passed away on Thursday July 14, 2011 at St. Anthony Medical Center.

Ed is survived by his wife Carol and children Chad (Sarah) Barney of Chicago, Ill.; and Tina (Troy) Pavy of Fishers, Ind.; grandchildren Maria, Benjamin, Matthew and Alexander; sister Roberta Haring of Kewanna, Ind. and former wife Andrea Barney.

He was preceded in death by his parents Charles Edward and Marian Barney Sr.

Ed attended First United Methodist Church of Crown Point, where he was a member of the Praise Team.

Ed proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Kouts American Legion Post #301. Ed was a retired member of Plumbers Local 210. Ed had also served as a volunteer fireman for the Washington Township Fire Department.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19th, 7:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church, 352 S. Main St., Crown Point, Ind.

Friends may visit with the family directly at First United Methodist Church on Tuesday, July 19, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to First United Methodist Church.
