Carolyn Y. Ameling, 71, of Michigan City formerly of Chesterton, passed away
Wednesday, December 7, 2011.
She was born October 17, 1940 in Gary, Ind., to Kelso C. and Helen V.
(Dusky) Ball.
On August 8, 1959 she married Ramon H. Ameling, who survives along with
their children Dean (Susan) Ameling of Valparaiso, Cindy Ameling of Missouri
and Janet (Mark) Lipinski of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; sisters Susan (John)
Palenik of Munster and Terry Young of Valparaiso; grandchildren Devon and
Brandon Darnell, Randi and Jamie Lipinski, two great-grandchildren and all
of her four legged friends at home. She was preceded in death by her parents
and one brother, Richard Ball.
She graduated from Hobart High School, attended Elkhart Dental School and
received her L.P.N. from Purdue University. She had served as a Licensed
Practical Nurse for many years throughout Northwest Indiana. Knitting and
crocheting were favorite activities for her and she loved spending time
observing nature.
Following cremation a private family service will be held.
