Antonia (Morales) Rios, age 85 of Portage, Ind., formerly of East Chicago,
passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 in Danville, Pennsylvania.
She was born on
June 13, 1926 in Canovanas, Puerto Rico to Pedro and Felicita (Casilla)
Morales, both of whom preceded her in death.
Antonia was a
homemaker, a minister’s wife, a prayer warrior and a missionary. She loved
her family dearly and was a member of Vision de Dios Church.
She is survived
by her children, Fred Rios of Pompano Beach, Fla.; Edith “Nellie” (Jessie)
Olmo of Porter, Ind.; Judith (Charles) Rumsey of Towanda, Kansas; Nivia
(Richard) Rivera of Wichita, Kansas; eleven grandchildren, eighteen
great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and numerous nieces and
nephews.
She is preceded
in death by her husband, Federico Rios and eight brothers and sisters.
A funeral
service will be held on Friday, August 5, 2011 at 9:30 a.m. at Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage, Ind., with
Pastor James Portaltin officiating.
Burial will
follow at Calvary Cemetery, Portage, Ind. Visitation will be held on
Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
