Alyce Margaret Bruhn Scott, age 90 of Chesterton, passed away Saturday, May
21, 2011 at her home.
She was born June 22, 1920 in Hammond Indiana to Daniel and Selma (Roos)
Bruhn, both of whom preceded her in death.
On June 13,1959 she married John Joseph Scott who preceded her in death on
December 31, 1969.
Alyce is survived by her daughter Mary Ann (Ronnie) Paul of Chesterton,
seven grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and one soon to be
great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Eugene and Reverend Irving Bruhn,
her sisters Florence Spangle and Louise Lovell and a great-grandson Andrew
Jarvis.
Alyce was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Chesterton, a
retired minister, a Sunday school teacher in Galesburg, a case worker for
Cook County Welfare, a member of Aquatics and the Jolly 60’s and she was a
world traveler, traveling half around the world in 90 days.
The family will receive friends Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 11:00 a.m.-1:00
p.m. at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday with Pastor Chris
Newman-Jacobs officiating. Burial will be in Chesterton Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the family in memory of Alyce.
