William Wilson of Portage passed away on Sunday, Nov. 28. He was 80.

Bill was born Nov. 1, 1930 in Hobart to Andrew Gold and Betsy (McEwan) Wilson. He was a lifelong area resident and graduated from Portage High School, class of 1949. Bill retired from Midwest Steel in 1992.

He is survived by daughters Lori Emig (husband Randy) of West Lafayette, Tracy Killingbeck (Russ) of Liberty Township, and Leslie Zengler (Thad) of Portage; and grandchildren Jennifer, Laura, Brian, Drew, Daniel, Heather and Sydney.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Edna Marie Wilson, and brothers Andrew Gold Wilson and James McEwan Wilson.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 2 p.m. at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 6540 Central Ave., Portage with Rev. Frederick Hoover officiating. Interment will follow services at McCool Cemetery in Portage. Visitation will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church on Tuesday, Nov. 30, from 2 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 1430, Cincinnati, OH 45250.
