Thomas J. Glancy of Chesterton passed away Friday, June 11, 2010 at Porter
Hospital Valparaiso Campus. He was 73.
Born on July 21, 1936 in Hammond, Ind., he was the son of Everett Glancy and
Luella Daumer Glancy, both of whom preceded him in death. He was married on
June 14, 1958 in Porter to Carol Krause, who survives in Chesterton.
He is also survived by three daughters, Lora (husband John) Wilezynski of
Vermont, Lisa Glancy of Chesterton and Lesley Penix of Chesterton; five
grandchildren, Brendan (wife Nicole) Wilezynski, Donovan (Jen) Wilezynski,
Justine Penix, Tiffany (Rocco) Vacanti and Dustin Krause; four great
grandchildren, Wyatt, Rocco, Kaden and Dylan; brother Jack (Barbara) Glancy
of Carbon; and sister Cheryl (Dan) Howe of Chesterton.
Tom was a financial planner employed with the Raymond James Brokerage Firm.
He was a member of the Porter County Farm Bureau, PCART, a member of the
Kiwanis, ROTC, NRA, a member of the Duneland Painter and Setter Club,
Wisconsin Mink Club, a member of the Chesterton Art Center, and a member of
the local and state 4-H where he judged painting, which was his biggest joy.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, June 15 at 2 p.m. from Saint Paul
Lutheran Church in Otis, Ind., with Pastor Thomas Sabel officiating. The
burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery. The family will receive friends
Monday, June 14, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd
