Service set for Ronald E. Allison

Chesterton resident Ronald E. Allison passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010 at his home. He was 67.

Born May 3, 1943 in Valparaiso, he was the son of Lester E. and Mary L. (Riddell) Allison. On June 6, 1970 in Chesterton, he married Georgina “Jeanie” (Heinold) Allison, who survives of Chesterton.

Also surviving are his mother, Mary Merriman of Payson, Ariz.; daughters Stacy Sosh (husband David) of Waveland, Ind., and Lora Allison of Chesterton; brothers Robert Allison (wife Joan) of St. Augustine, Fla. and Richard Allison of Indianapolis; sister Patricia Landers (David) of Payson; grandchildren Chloe, Emma and Elijah; sister in law Judy Miller (Sonny) of Chesterton; and brother in law John Heinold (Bunky) of Chesterton.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lester E. Allison.

Ronald was a lifelong area resident and was a member of New Life Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved target shooting and hiking. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving for three years. Ronald worked as a conveyor operator in the 80-inch Hot Mill at Bethlehem/Mittal for 44 years.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 25 at 1 p.m. at New Life Wesleyan Church, 75 E. 1100 W., Chesterton. Ronald’s family would like to give a very special thanks to their family at New Life Wesleyan and to John Jarka and the Chesterton Fire Department.
