Service set for Rodney Lee Thames

Former Chesterton resident Rodney Lee “Rockin’ Ronnie” Thames of Gulfport, Miss., died Sunday, March 14, 2010 in Gulfport. He was 36.

He lived in Chesterton all his life before moving to the coast in 1990. He enjoyed fishing and wrestling and was easy going and never met a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Brandie, of Gulfport; mother, Willie Thames, of Gulfport; siblings Marcus Shuchs of Georgia, Donald Thames of Missouri, Larry Thames of Gulfport, Judy Thames of Valparaiso, Brenda Atterbury of LaCrosse, and Patti Thames of Gulfport; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lee Thames, Sr.; brothers Lee Ronnie Thames, Jr. and Ronald Thames; and his grandparents, Levi and Haughty Davis and Louis and Dolly Thames.

Visitation will be Wednesday, March 17 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Riemann Family Funeral Home, 11280 Three Rivers Road, Gulfport. Visitation will also be held Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home, Monticello, Miss., with a funeral service Friday at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Roberts Cemetery, Jayess, Miss. An online guestbook may be signed at www.riemannfamily.com
