Patricia L. Royko of Chesterton passed away on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 at the
VNA Hospice Center in Valparaiso. She was 71.
She is survived by her daughters, Rose M. (husband Terry) Lipniskis of
Chesterton and Sue J. Schwartz of Valparaiso; sons Joseph L. (wife Pam)
Royko Jr. of Valparaiso, Patrick A. Royko of Chesterton and Frank A.
(Helena) Royko of Chesterton; grandchildren Adam Waldier, Cortney and Taylor
Lipniskis, Austin and Nathan Schwartz, Gabriella and Zachary Royko and
Dalton Royko.
Patricia was born July 29, 1939 in Quincy, Ill. to Burtis Ralph and Lillian
(Wilson) Stinchcomb. Pat was a homemaker throughout her children’s younger
years. She later worked as a bartender for Fasel’s and did clerical work for
Von Tobel’s Lumber and Hardware. Pat was an avid Cubs fan. She enjoyed
playing horseshoes and bowling for many years. She also participated in a
dart league and a Bunco club.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Dec. 30 at 6 p.m. at Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Memorial visitation hours will
be from 4 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Online
