Patricia Ann Hinkle of Portage passed away Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010 at the
Regency Hospital of Portage. She was 59.
Born Dec. 17, 1950 in Gary, she was the daughter of Rev. Edward L. and
Florence (Espravnik) Riley. She was a teacher’s assistant for the Portage
School System and also worked as a School Nurse’s Assistant. She also worked
for First Contact through the Portage Township Trustee’s Office. She
attended Portage Family Bible Church and taught a women’s Bible Study, She
loved to play Bunco with her dear friends, the “Bunco Babes.” On Sept. 28,
1967, she married Jim Hinkle, who survives.
Also surviving are her mother, Florence, of Greenwood, Del.; sons Michael J.
(wife Cynna) Hinkle of Corona, Calif., and Robert J. (Kristen) Hinkle of
Cedar Springs, Mich.; six grandchildren Janae, Michael, Jonathan, Brandon,
Kaeana, and Jaidyn; great grandchild Caleb; sisters Barbara (Elsworth)
Fannin of Greenwood, Del. and Kathy (David) Greene of Spring Hill, Tenn.;
her aunt Naomi Espravnik; several nieces, nephews and cousins;
sisters-in-law Gerri (Chuck) Warren of Chesterton and Paulette Dixon of
Boise, Idaho; and brother-in-law Frank (Mary) Hinkle of Kalispell, Mont.
She was preceded in death by her father and grandchildren Joshua and Annika.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 13 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral
Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., with Pastors David McGrath and
Charles Warren officiating. Burial will follow in McCool Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday Dec. 12 from 2 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
