Service set for JoAnn Richey

Former Chesterton resident JoAnn E. Richey of Valparaiso passed away Monday, Feb. 8, 2010 at the Porter Hospital Valparaiso Campus. She was 69.

Born on August 23, 1940 in Gary, she was the daughter of Floyd and Josephine (Arana) Aragon, Sr. She was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church of Valparaiso and St. Patrick Catholic Church of Chesterton.

She is survived by her loving children Jack Richey, Jr. of Valparaiso, Kelliann Wait (husband Mark) of Macungie, Penn., Kevin Richey of Lexington, Kent., Christopher Richey (wife Kimberly) of College Grove, Tenn., and Jeffrey Richey (Charlotte) of Chesterton; loving grandchildren Adam, Jade, Jaime, and Kobe Richey, Jennifer Richey, Evan and Marley Wait, Sarah Richey, Emma and Eric Richey, and Alexandra, Zachary, and Isabel Richey; and siblings Christine Havens (Chuck), Paul Aragon (Pat), Adeline Parrish, Floyd Aragon, Sr., Cathy Cook (Donald), and Eileen Leman (John).

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Daniel Aragon.

Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory, Valparaiso a Memorial Mass will be held on Friday, Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 1511 LaPorte Ave., Valparaiso with Fr. Kevin McCarthy officiating. Memorial visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso. Private burial of ashes will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Memorials may be made to St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. moellerfuneralhome.com
