Chesterton resident Gregory G. “Mr. Greg” Sweitzer, formerly of Michigan City, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010 at St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City. He was 52.

Born on October 7, 1957 in Gary, he was the son of Glenn M. and Erma M. (Nay) Sweitzer. Greg worked maintenance for 19 years at the Michigan City Community Building. He loved interacting and working with the children at the Community Building, where he was known as “Mr. Greg.”

He is survived by brothers Glenn Gary (wife Marge) Sweitzer of Valparaiso and Guy Sweitzer (Elaine) of Chesterton; sister Gayle Sweitzer of Hebron; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Justin Sweitzer.

Following cremation at Angelcrest Crematory in Valparaiso, a memorial service will be held on Saturday, Feb. 27 at 6 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home,104 Roosevelt Road, Valparaiso.
