Ewell Earl Lovell of Jackson Township passed away Sunday, Dec. 26, 2010 at
Porter Hospital. He was 78.
He was born June 13, 1932 in Dalhart, Texas to Earl and Allice (Milligan)
Lovell. Ewell had served in the Maintenance Department at U.S. Steel
Garyworks for many years then assisted at Lakeland Park in Burns Harbor. He
was a member of Northern Indiana Historical Power Association and would
often demonstrate blacksmithing skills at their events.
On Dec. 13, 1976, he married Mary Alice Craig, who preceded him in death in
1992.
He is survived by children Ewell J. Lovell and Jesse W. Lovell, both of
Jackson Township, Wilma (husband Stan) Worley of Minnesota, Sara (Larry)
Kamiel of Michigan, and Garry Cox of Florida; sister Eunice Peters of
Valparaiso; sister-in-law Louise Tolson of LaPorte; and granddaughters
Victoria, Autumn, Jeannette, Amy and Stacey.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law James
Peters.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., with the funeral
service beginning at 7 p.m. at Moeller Funeral Home, 104 Roosevelt Road,
Valparaiso. Private burial service will be Thursday at Graceland Cemetery.
