Elizabeth E. (Bryan) Christopher of Valparaiso passed away Sunday, Oct. 10,
2010 at the Horton VNA Hospice Center with her family by her side. She was
77.
She was born on November 8, 1932 in Altoona, Pa. to Sanford and Elizabeth (Buschle)
Bryan. On Nov. 28, 1952, she married George Leroy Christopher.
Elizabeth is survived by her four children Cathy (husband Jim) Holsapple of
Chesterton, Robert (wife Marti) Christopher of Valparaiso, Michael (Bobbi
Jo) Christopher of Knox, and Philip (Sherri) Christopher of Valparaiso;
brother Donald (Peggy) Bryan of Altoona, Pa.; sister Marie (Adam) Lawruk of
Altoona, Pa.; 15 grandchildren Michael (Angel), Timothy, Chadd (Jennifer),
Brandon, Brooke (Joshua), Jason, Yvonne, Cheryl, Michael (Andrea),
Stephanie, Tiffany, Dennis (Amber), Daniel, Sarah and Adam; 15
great-grandchildren; nieces Gina and Michele; and nephews Timmy and Sandy.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George L. Christopher on
Sept. 29, 2010, her father Sanford, her mother Elizabeth and stepfather
Edward Adams, and her Godparents Bill and Lottie Buschle.
Elizabeth was a homemaker and loving wife mother and grandmother. She was a
veteran of the U.S. Navy and a member of the Our Lady of Sorrows Altar and
Rosary Society.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 12 from4 to 8 p.m. at Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home. Portage Chapel 6941 Central Ave., with the Rosary
recited at 7 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.
followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, Oct. 13 at 10 a.m. at
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 356 W. 700 N., Valparaiso, with Father
John Zemelko officiating. Burial will follow at Heritage Cemetery, Portage.
