Former
Chesterton resident Dorothy A. Lewis of Ossian, Ind. died at 10:43 a.m.
Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Ossian Health Care. She was 91.
Born March 14, 1918, in Edgar, Neb., she was the daughter of the late James
and Elizabeth Campbell Taylor. On Dec. 22, 1938, she married Everett Lewis
in Almena, Kan., who preceded her in death in September, 1981.
Dorothy was a clerk at the Ben Franklin Store in Chesterton and retired in
1975.
She is survived by son Kenneth Lewis (wife Linda) of Bluffton; daughters
Alice Prickett of Chesterton and Della Lewis of Otterbein; sisters Della
McClure of Belton, Mo. and Irene Williams of Lagrand, Ore.; five
grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by son Paul Lewis.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Soller-Baker West
Lafayette Chapel, 1184 Sagamore Parkway West. Funeral service will be 10
a.m. Monday at the Soller-Baker West Lafayette Chapel, with Rev. Jeff Smith
officiating. Interment will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park.
