Doris Anne Stout of Porter passed away Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010 at her
home. She was 78.
She was born on Sept. 4, 1932 in Chesterton to Thomas Maney and Anna Faye
Kemker-Maney, both of whom preceded her in death. On Sept. 25, 1950 she
married George T. Stout, who survives in Porter.
She is also survived by children Connie Wallace of LaPorte, Pam Furdo
(husband Robert) of Chesterton, Deb Moulton of Porter, Dennis Stout (wife
Connie) of LaPorte and Candy Jones (Paul) of Dyersburg, Tenn.; siblings
Margaret Rhode of Chesterton, Richard Maney (Jo) of Livermoore, Calif.,
Jacqueline Goins (Clester) of Highland, and George Maney (Karen) of
Chesterton.
She is preceded in death by her brothers Amos and Jack.
Doris was a loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed family gatherings,
could always maintain humor under any circumstance and was a remarkable
cook. She enjoyed being a Brownie leader and Chesterton High School Band
Booster, watching the birds that visited her porch, and reading.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 5 p.m. at the
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton, with Pastor Cathy
Allison officiating. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 3 p.m.
until the time of service. Memorials may be given to the CHS Marching Band,
