Chesterton resident Deborah Susan Alsman passed away Sunday, August 29, 2010
in Valparaiso. She was 58.
Born Dec. 10,
1951 in Gary, she was married to Kensey Alsman, who survives in Chesterton.
Also surviving
are her parents, Clarence and Lola King of Benton, Ky.; daughter Amy
Alsman-Hodsden (husband Kerry) of Chesterton; son Kensey “Digger” Alsman
(wife Jody) of Las Vegas, Nev.; grandsons Payton Hodsden and Kensey Oliver
Alsman; brothers and sisters Linda Anderson of Valparaiso, Michael King of
North Judson, Ind., Doug King (Kathy) of Valparaiso, Lola Lowe (Denny) of
North Judson, Nancy Burton (Bill) of Murray, Ky., and Dean King (Lisa) of
North Judson.
She was preceded
in death by her sons, Craig Mason and Bryan Mason, and grandmother Allie Mae
Gilbert.
Deborah was a
loving and devoted mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, sister and aunt. An
area resident for most of her life, she worked as a real estate broker for
Boulder Bay Realty.
A memorial
service will be held on Friday, Sept. 3 at 7 p.m. at the Edmonds & Evans
Funeral Home Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave., Portage. Friends may gather
with the family on Friday, Sept. 3 from 5 p.m. until the time of the service
at the funeral home. Memorial donations may be made to the Boys and Girls
