Chesterton resident Beverly Joy Schnarr passed away Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010
at her home. She was 86.
She was born March 4, 1924 in Evansville, Ind., to Robert F. and Dellora K.
(Partenheimer) Jehle, who preceded her in death.
Beverly is survived by her children, Karen J. (husband Jerry) Moore, Phyllis
K. (husband Jerry) Wise, Robert E. Schnarr (fiancé Andrea O’Connor), Lynn R.
Peters (fiancé Alan Busch), Debbie J. (husband Alan) Brown, and Rick L.
Schnarr; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four
great-great-grandchildren.
Beverly was a member of St. James West Methodist Church in Evansville. She
was also a lifetime member of the VFW Post, 1114 Ladies Auxiliary in
Evansville. She retired from H.A. Lewis HTG and CLG in Evansville after 15
years. She also worked for H & R Block in Evansville and Florida for 12
years before moving to Chesterton in July, 2006. Beverly enjoyed reading,
crafts, sewing and crossword puzzles. She loved working in her flower garden
and playing in the dirt. She had an artistic nature and enjoyed drawing.
Beverly had a wonderful sense of humor and was instantly loved by everyone
who met her. Her children admired her wonderful spirit throughout her life
and during her illness. She will be greatly missed by all.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 11 a.m. at Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton with Pastor Larry Starett
officiating. Burial will follow at Chesterton Cemetery, Chesterton.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 2 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral
