Richard A. Richey of Porter passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2010 at his home. He was 82.

Richard was born on Dec. 20, 1928 to Ollie Richey and Gladys (Cameron) Richey, both of whom preceded him in death. On August 14, 1950 in South Bend, he married Helen L. (Stroup) Richey, who preceded him in death on August 29, 2008.

He is survived by children David Richey of Porter, Karen Lafayette (husband Robert) of Las Vegas, Nev., and Cathy Richey-Slappey (Greg) of Manhattan Beach, Calif.; and siblings David Richey, Eva Watkins and Geri Duneziser, all of Winter Haven, Fla.

He is also preceded in death by his children Anthony and Pamela.

Richard was employed at U.S. Steel for over 40 years. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton. For more information, call 926-1309.
