Former Chesterton resident Randall Doyle McQuiston of Nokomis, Fla. and
Valparaiso passed away Friday, Nov. 19, 2010. He was 92.
He is survived by his two daughters, Pamel Wheatman (husband James) and
Vicki Hodge (Michael); three loving grandchildren, Lance Hodge (wife
Tricia), Erin Welden (Clint), and Courtney Gapinski; six
great-grandchildren; and dear friends and extended family, all blessed to
have known how wonderful he was.
He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd McQuiston; his mother, Muriel
Doyle McQuiston; his loving wife Delora Jane Hoffner McQuiston; and his
sister, Maxine McQuiston Gebert.
He was born in Jackson Township, and as a young man, farmed with his father.
After marrying, he owned and operated the Shell Service Station in
Chesterton for 32 years. There never was a more kind, generous, loving man
born, and he already is greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 26 at the White-Love
Funeral Home, 525 South 2nd St., Chesterton. Funeral services will be held
at the funeral home on Saturday, Nov. 27, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Cathy
Allison officiating. The burial will follow at the Chesterton Cemetery.
Memorials may be given in Randall’s name to the Porter County Animal
Shelter.
