Porter resident Audrey Wampler passed away Saturday, April 3, 2010 at her
home. She was 75.
Born March 21, 1935 in Chesterton, she was the daughter of Candido Leon and
Helen Ferguson Leon, both of whom preceded her in death.
She is is survived by four children, Randall (wife Sharon) Nelson of
Chesterton, Linda Hanson of Westville, Michael (Debby) Wampler of Fort
Meyers, Fla., and Diane Jozwick of Hobart; 11 grandchildren Lindsey Nelson,
Alison Nelson, Dave and Steve Zane, Jennifer Wright, Candace Contreras,
Anthony and Destiney Carter, Eric and Jessica Wampler and Ryan Hamscher;
three great-grandchildren Jorge and Isabelle Contreras and Derek Wright;
sister Pat Sutherland of Porter; and nephew Craig Tilden of Porter.
Audrey had a passion for nature. She was a bird lover, an animal lover and
an avid gardener.
There will be no visitation or funeral service.
There will be a private family service held at a later date. Arrangements
are under the care of White-Love Funeral Home, 525 South Second St.,
