Jackson Township resident Owen T. Gloyeske passed away Monday, May 24, 2010,
in Valparaiso. He was 78.
Born on March 17, 1932 in Chesterton, he was the son of Margaret (O’Connor)
and Theodore Gloyeske.
Owen is survived by his wife, Elaine, of 48 years; sons Andrew Gloyeske of
Chicago and Paul Gloyeske of Speedway, Ind.; daughters Lynn Gloyeske of
Noblesville, Ind. and Patricia (husband Patrick) Jackson of Huntington,
Ind.; grandchildren Zackery and Lauren Jackson and Madilynn Gloyeske; and
brothers Glenn, Ralph (wife Mary), Russell (Beverly), and Roy (Carol)
Gloyeske.
He was a member of St. Patrick Church, a member of Plumber Local #210 for
more than 50 years, and a lifetime farmer. He served on the Jackson Township
Advisory Board for eight years and was a veteran of the U.S. Army.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. at St.
Patrick Church of Chesterton, with Father Lawrence Heeg officiating. Burial
to follow at the Chesterton Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 26 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. Second Street, Chesterton, with a 7:30 p.m.
wake service with Father James McGrogan officiating. The family will also
receive friends on Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the
church. Memorials may be given to the MDS Foundation, St. Patrick Church, or
a favorite charity. Arrangements are under the direction of White-Love
