Daniel Raymond Ridge of Valparaiso, formerly of Chesterton, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 14, 2010 at VNA Horton Hospice Center. He was 50.

He was born on June 23, 1960 in Valparaiso to Hughie Ridge and Doris Coursel-Ridge, both of whom preceded him in death. In Valparaiso, he married Rebecca LePell, who survives in Valparaiso.

He is also survived by his children Emily Morris (husband Jason) of Milford, Ind., Randall Ridge of Valparaiso and Samuel Ridge of Valparaiso; grandchildren Mackenzie, Riley and Abbey of Milford; siblings Donald Ridge (wife Kelly) of Valparaiso, Mark Ridge (Sue) of Illinois, Kenneth Ridge (Jill) of Chesterton, Mary Lashinis (Thomas) of LaPorte and Robert Ridge (Shirley) of Chesterton.

Dan is also preceded in death by his daughter, Kaitlyn.

Dan was employed in sales by Schwan’s Ice Cream. He was also an assistant scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 923 of Kouts and an Order of the Arrow of the Sakima Lodge #573.

There will be a memorial visitation on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at the White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd Street, Chesterton. Memorial donations may be given to the family. For additional information, call White-Love Funeral Home at 926-1309.
