Marjorie Ellen Winn of Porter passed away Monday, Dec. 6, 2010 at her home.
She was 81.
Born April 2, 1929 in Gary, she was the daughter of William G. and Margaret
E. (Osberg) Tilden, who preceded her in death. She was married to Aldred
Eugene Winn, who preceded her in death in 1983.
She is survived by her sons Michael E. Winn of Chesterton, Donald N. (wife
Michele) Winn of Chesterton and Timothy E. Winn of Porter; daughters Susan
E. Needler of Chesterton and Mary K. Winn of Porter; adopted daughter Amy
Schaeffer; brothers William “Bud” Tilden of Porter, James (Bonnie) Tilden of
Chesterton and George Edward (Mickey) Tilden of Winsor, Wis.; sister,
Kathyrn (husband Richard) Mills of New Market, N.H.; sister-in-law Arlene
Tilden; grandchildren Alisha, Lenny, Carrie, Amber, Nicole and Hailey; great
grandchildren Aubrey, Alonzo, Alora, Anaray, Logan, Donavan, Bently and
Noah; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her sons William and David and brother Pat
Tilden.
Marjorie was a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of Chesterton High
School Class of 1947, and was a past member of the American Legion
Auxiliary.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Dec. 10 from 2 to 7 p.m. at the Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton. Private burial will take place
at Calumet Park Cemetery, Merrillville. Memorials may be made to the VNA
