Geraldine LaPeer Norris of Merrillville passed away on Friday, April 9, 2010
at Wittenberg Lutheran Village in Crown Point. She was 86.
She is survived
by children Linda Matson of Merrillville, Vicki Krolik (husband Rick) of
Chesterton, Nancy Berkley of Hobart, Artie LaPeer (wife Gloria) of San
Antonio, Texas, Suzan LaPeer of Merrillville, Jean LaPeer (Shelly) of
Merrillvile, and Marie Berthold (Louis) of South Bend; 13 grandchildren;
eight great-grandchildren; sister Ginney Reling (Ben) of Chesterton; brother
Bill Wilson (Chris) of Munster; and many nieces and nephews.
She was a member
of the American Legion Fred Schmidt Post #20 in Crown Point and enjoyed
crafts and cake decorating.
Funeral prayers
will be said on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at 9:15 a.m. at Geisen Funeral Home,
7905 Broadway, Merrillville followed by a funeral mass at St. Stephen Martyr
Church, 5920 Waite St., Merrillville at 10 a.m. with Father Michael L.
Maginot officiating. Services will conclude at the church with cremation to
follow. Burial of cremains will take place at Island Memorial Park in
Wealaco, Texas. Friends may visit with the family on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m.
at Geisen Funeral Home in Merrillville. A Rosary Service will be held at 7
p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to The Alzheimer’s Associaton or to
