Donald A. Eggert of Chesterton passed away on Friday, July 16, 2010. He was 76.

Donald was born May 13, 1934 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Howard Fred and Evelyn Rose (Oberacker) Eggert. He was a retired professor from the University of Illinois at Chicago where he taught paliobotany, botany and biology. He was a member of the Paliobotanical Society.

He is survived by his step-son, Ronald Ramos of Chesterton. He was preceded in death by his parents.

There will be no services locally. Burial will take place at Brooklyn Heights Cemetery in Cleveland, Ohio with his family. Memorial donations for Donald may be made to Ronald Ramos for a scholarship fund being set up for paliobotany in Donald’s name. The Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
