Former Chesterton resident David James Edwards died Tuesday, Feb. 2, 2010. A
resident of Park Forest, Ill., he was 79.
He is survived by a daughter, Tona Beach.
He was preceded in death by a long-time companion, Lorrayne Banghart; and by
two brothers, Arthur Edwards (the late Lillian) and Bill Edwards (Jane).
He was a grandfather, a cherished uncle and great-uncle, and a friend to
many.
David, a former longtime resident of Chesterton, was a retired carpenter. He
served with the U.S. Marine Corps (1951-53) and received the National
Defense Medal.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5, at Lain-Sullivan
Funeral Home and Crematory, 50 Westwood Drive in Park Forest. Interment at
Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, Ill.
