Billy Joe Haddox of Caldwell, Texas, formerly of Chesterton passed away on
Nov. 12, 2010 at Burleson St. Joseph’s Hospital in Caldwell. He was 81.
He was born July 30, 1929 to Parrish Haddox and Lola Rhodes Haddox in
Caldwell. On Oct. 6, 1950, he married Doris Collins. They were married for
almost 59 years before Doris passed away in 2009. Billy Joe was a 50 year
member of Warren Masonic Lodge #56, a member of the York Rite, Scottish
Rite, and the Orak Shriners. He was also a 50-year retired member of
Ironworkers Local #395.
He is survived by sons Billy P. Haddox (wife Sue) of Caldwell, Robin Haddox
of Portage, Randy Haddox; daughter Sheila Thompson; grandchildren Mary Beth
and Brian McCarthy, Billy Joe and Joelle Haddox, Parrish, Lauren, Sara,
Jacob, Megan, Matthew, and Scott Haddox, Abby and Andrew Thompson; and great
grandson James Parrish McCarthy.
Billy Joe was preceded in death by his wife Doris, his parents, brothers
Jennings and Sammy Haddox, and sisters Eunice Robbins and Ethel Teague.
Funeral services are set for Wednesday, Nov. 17 at 11 a.m. at the Strickland
Funeral Home Chapel in Caldwell, Texas. Interment will follow at Masonic
Cemetery under the care and direction of Strickland Funeral Home of
Caldwell. A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, Nov. 16 from 2 to 8 p.m.,
