William Dale Hamilton, of Crossville, Tenn., formerly of
Chesterton, passed away Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at Cumberland Medical
Center, Crossville, Tenn. He was 63.
He was born May 14, 1945 in Gary, the son of the late Dale
William Hamilton and Ruth E. (Martin) Hamilton, of Chesterton.
On June 8, 1996 in Gatlinburg, Tenn., he married Mary
Katherine “Kate” Flaherty, who survives.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine Hamilton of Crossville,
Tenn.; his mother Ruth of Chesterton; sons, Timothy (Petra) Hamilton, of
Hawthorn Woods, Ill.; Darren Hamilton, of Loveland, Ohio and Erik Hamilton,
of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a step-son, Neil Ford of Portland, Org.;
step-daughter, Alison (Robert) Nicksic, of Chicago; two brothers, Richard
(Loa) Doane, of Georgetown, Texas and Robert (Katherine) Hamilton, of
Chesterton; a sister, Susan (Richard) Willard, of Portage.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale William Hamilton
and his beloved friend Susan Hugus.
Bill was retired from Mid-West Steel, where he was a
Millwright with 39 years of service. He was a member of United Steel Workers
of America Local #6103. He was an avid golfer and member of Fairfield Glade
Golfing Community. A Corvette enthusiast, he loved nature and wildlife and
enjoyed hiking the mountains of Tenn.
Funeral services, Pastor Cathy Allison officiating, will be
at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 2 at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St.
Chesterton. Cremation will follow at Calvary Crematory, Portage.
The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 2 from 3 p.m.
until time of service at 7 p.m.
Memorials may be given to the Leukemia-Lymphoma Society or to
the American Cancer Society.
