Ursula Djordjevic, 81, of Chesterton, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009.
Ursula was born in Stargard, Germany July 13, 1927 the daughter of Hermann
and Frieda (Drose) Giese, both of whom preceded her in death.
She married Miroslav Djordjevic in 1947. They moved to the U.S. in 1951 and
became citizens in 1955. He preceded her in death.
Ursula is survived by her children, Marian (Steve) Tarr of Chesterton, Peter
Djordjevic of Virginia and Yasmine (Clay) Wiker of Salt Lake City, Utah;
grandchildren, Jennifer (Jon) Elvis of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Jill Djordjevic
of Austin, Texas, Denise (Jon) Carter of Brownsburg, Ind., Sandra (Chuck)
Nichols of Oxford, Conn. and Steven (Angela) Tarr of Naples, Fla.; great
grandchildren, Rowan, Duncan and Lily Carter, Chloe, Ellie and Jake Nichols,
Erin Tarr and Carly and Carson Elvis.
She is preceded in death also by a sister, Edith Cross.
Ursula worked in sales for Goldblatt’s for 10 years. She was a member of the
Westchester Senior Center and Banta Senior Center. She enjoyed politics,
playing skippo, reading, traveling, movies with popcorn and her great
grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, June 13, in Chesterton
Cemetery, 300 E. Porter Ave., Chesterton.
