Services set for Lee Fenske

Lee Walter Fenske, the father of a Chesterton resident, died Monday, Nov. 30, 2009, in Valparaiso. A resident of Portage, he was 72.

He was born May 29, 1937, in Algoma, Wis., the son of Leroy and Viola (Sibilsky) Fenske, who preceded him in death.

He was married to Jane Nordstrom, who survives in Portage.

He is also survived by three children, Lisa Lee Fenske of Chesterton, Matt Wheeler of Michigan City, and Dan Wheeler of Portage; a brother, Jimmy Fenske of Algoma; three beloved grandchildren, Danielle, Jessica, and Vincent; and his loving dog and companion, Presley.

Lee was an area resident for 45 years, worked as a carpenter for Local 1485, was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, and loved his family and home.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5, at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, Portage Chapel, 6941 Central Ave. in Portage. Entombment will follow at Graceland Cemetery in Valparaiso.

Visitation is scheduled from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 4, at Edmonds & Evans.
