Services set for Juliet Macy

Chesterton resident Juliet J. Macy, 97, died Thursday, Oct. 15, 2009, at Porter Hospital Valparaiso Campus.

She was born Sept. 3, 1912, in Chicago, the daughter of John and Barbara (Servais) Reiter, who preceded her in death.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ervin Macy.

She is survived by her niece Mary Lou (Richard) Marshall of Chesterton; and by nephews Eugene Reiter of Boston, Mass., Charles Reiter of Long Beach, N.Y., and John Reiter of Vienna, Va.

She was preceded in death by her nephew Michael Reiter; by her step-son, Ervin Macy; by her step-daughter, Norma Macy; and by her brothers, John Reiter, Henry Reiter, Emil Reiter; and Eugene Reiter.

Juliet was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and of the St. Patrick Seniors Group.

A Mass of Christian Burial, Father James Meade officiating, is scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday, Oct. 19, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Road, with burial to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Evergreen Park, Ill.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. Second St. in Chesterton, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at White-Love.
