Porter resident Christine Cisarik, 57, died Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2009, at the
VNA Horton Hospice Center in Valparaiso.
She was born Jan. 5, 1952, in Gary, the daughter of Fredrick and Mary Carta
(Minas) Swallow, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her husband Joseph of Porter; four children, Roger (Lori)
Coppinger of Valparaiso, Tracy (Tom) Pritchard of Union Mills, Ind., Kelly
(Michael) Heckman of Fort Hood, Texas, and Michael Cisarik of Chesterton; 11
grandchildren; a step-father, Gordon Minas of Crown Point; six siblings,
David (Janice) Swallow and Denny (Nancy) Swallow, both of Crown Point; Mary
(Tony) Forbes of Cedar Lake, Michael (Jane) Swallow of Phoenix, Ariz.,
Theresa (John) Crawford of Crown Point, and Robert (Jennifer) Minas of
Arizona.
Christine was a member of the American Legion Post No. 20 Ladies Auxiliary
in Crown Point. She loved to ride with her husband on his motorcycle and was
a member of a Harley owners group. She loved the outdoors, the beach,
planting flowers, and gardening but her greatest love was spending time with
her grandchildren.
A celebration of life, Pastor Craig A. Forwalter officiating, is scheduled
for 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. Second St.
in Chesterton. Cremation to follow service.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. Saturday until the time of
service at White-Love.
