Chesterton resident Thomas D. Redner died Saturday, Nov. 21, 2009 at The
Waters of Duneland in Chesterton. He was 51.
He is survived by his mother, Jeanine Parry-Harris of Porter; brother
Michael Redner (wife Lin) of Aurora, Ill.; sister Karen Sue Mitchell of
Valparaiso; half-brothers James Harris of Porter and Robert Harris
(Veronica) of Mill Valley, Calif.; nieces Jill Sayer, Kim Mitchell and Anny
Jiang; and aunts, uncles and cousins.
Born Nov. 5, 1958 in Chicago, he was a 1976 graduate of Chesterton High
School and a graduate of Purdue North Central with an associate degree in
communications. Tom had a great interest in politics and loved working the
polls at election time. He was also an avid sports fan.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 1 p.m. from the
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton, with Pastor Brooks
Sayer, a nephew of Tom’s, officiating. Burial will follow in Chesterton
Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until
the time of service at the White-Love Funeral Home. Memorials may be given
