Christopher J. Egener of Chesterton died Friday, August 28, 2009 in Portage.
He was 33.
He was born May 31, 1976 in Valparaiso. He is survived by wife Barbrah E. (Glasser)
Egener of Chesterton; children Matthew W., Kyle C. and Aiden W. Egener, all
at home; parents Daniel E. and Kathy L. (Graham) Egener of Burns Harbor;
mother- and father-in-law Jeanne and Lloyd Glasser of Chesterton; paternal
grandmother Eileen E. Egener of Chesterton; maternal grandmother Bette
Graham of Winimac, Ind.; sisters-in-law Jessica Kopp (husband Ryan) of
Evansville and Rachael Glasser of Chesterton; Godmother Lynne Koselke of
Wanatah; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather William Egener,
maternal grandparents Dallas and Margaret Graham, and Godfather Jim Koselke.
Christopher was a member of American Legion Post 180 of Highland for five
years and Sons of American Legion Post 180 for 15 years. He was a member of
Laborers Local 81 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 4, 2009 at 6 p.m. from the
White-Love Funeral Home, 525 S. 2nd St., Chesterton. The family will receive
friends on Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Cremation will follow the service. A memorial fund has been established for
Christopher’s children at Centier Bank, 103 Broadway, Chesterton. For
