Long-time Portage resident Anna Shore passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009.
She was 78.
Born on April 18, 1931 in East Chicago, Ind., she was the daughter of Frank
and Manda Bogdanich. On August 23, 1952 in Valparaiso, she married Glenn
Norman “Norm” Shore.
She is survived by her loving family, daughter Jan Shore of Valparaiso; son
James Shore (wife Jane) of Lake Station; grandchildren James Glenn Norman
Shore, Ronald Mitchell Shore, and John Unrue; sisters Mary Kraft of
Valparaiso and Dorothy Idzior of Porter; and other loving family and dear
friends.
Anna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norm Shore, and
brothers Frank and George Bogdanich.
She worked for the Bonner Senior Center as a bus driver for more than 11
years and as the director for more than 13 years. She was a wonderful
homemaker and a great cook and enjoyed her beautiful flowers. Each month she
met with six other ladies from Wheeler High School for “club.” She was a
wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and a friend to all.
Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, at Rees Funeral Home
- Olson Chapel, 5341 Central Avenue, Portage. A funeral service will be held
at 10 a.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home with Chaplin Susan Lahaie
officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Portage. Memorials in
