Roxanne Fay Samuels Gross (nee Skinner), age 52, of Portage, IN passed away
peacefully Saturday, February 21, 2009 at the VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso.
Roxanne was born on February 19, 1957 in Great Lakes, Ill. the daughter of
Ray H. and Ethel “Pat” (Lewis) Skinner.
She was blessed with one son, Danny Ray Samuels (Amanda) of Portage and two
beautiful granddaughters, whom she adored, Alexandria Renee and Delaney Ray.
She is survived by her husband, Raymond A. Gross, youngest sister, Regina
(Justin) Hess of Valparaiso, one nephew, Stefan Mathias Hess and mother Pat
(Steve) Bryant of Portage.
Roxanne was preceded in death by her father, Ray Howard Skinner, brothers
Gregory Ray and Glenn Craig Skinner and sister Renee Christine.
Roxanne fought a long hard battle with courage and a determination that
reminded family of her strength and will to live. In the darkest of her
hours, her strength gave strength to others.

Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, February 26, at the Edmonds &
Evans Funeral Home 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
A
visitation will be Thursday, February 26, from 1 p.m. until time of service
at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will be at Heritage Crematory,
Portage with interment of ashes at a later date at Chesterton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice Care.
