Nicholas Vuick, resident's father, dies at 90

Nicholas Vuick, the father of a Chesterton resident, died Friday, Oct. 16, 2009. A resident of West Mifflin, Pa., he was 90.

He was the son of Milos and Maria (Evanovic) Vuick, who preceded him in death.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Helen (Rathl) Vuick.

He is survived by his daughter, Judith V. Kroeger of Chesterton; his grandchildren, Eric (Lauren) Kroeger of Chesterton, Rebecca Browning of Carmel, Ind., and Paul (Kristin) Kroeger of Chesterton; and seven great-grandchildren.

Nicholas was a member of St. Sava’s Serbian Orthodox Church, a member of the Board of Directors for Riverview Homes Association, and a veteran of the U.S. Army in World War II.

The family will receive friends from 8 to 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at St. Sava’s Serbian Orthodox Church, with funeral services officiated by the Very Rev. Stevan Rocknage. Interment will be private.

Memorials may be made to St. Sava’s Orthodox Church. Funeral arrangements are being completed by Teichart-Gracan Funeral Home, 212 Wilmot St. in Duquesne, Pa.
