Mary Beth Kremke of Porter, passed away Thursday February 26, 2009 at Porter
Hospital Valparaiso Campus. She was 65.
Mary Beth was born on November 25, 1943 in Rensselaer, the daughter of Henry
and Ruth (Orsbourne) Starkey, both of whom preceded her in death.
On September 13, 1968 she married Robert L. Kremke, who survives in Porter.
She is also survived by sons, Jason Kremke of Porter and Kevin (Beth) Kremke
of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Liz Boswell (fiance Will Scharp) of Porter; a
brother, Henry (Gloria) Starkey of Kniman; sisters; Trish Sprague of
Chesterton, Kim Starkey of DeMotte and Kara (Jeff) Spencer of Portage and
many loving nieces and nephews.
Mary Beth worked as a registered nurse for the VNA of Porter County retiring
in 1998. She was a member of Porter United Methodist Church, Porter United
Methodist Women’s Club, pinochle “Therapy” group and she loved to bake. Mary
Beth will always be remembered for her tireless dedication to her family and
friends.
She was also preceded in death by a brother, Kirby Starkey.
A
funeral service, Rev. G. Thomas Jones officiating, will be at 11 a.m. Monday,
March 2 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home 517 Broadway, Chesterton.
Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Sunday, March 1 at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society.
