Margaret Cutter dies at 88

Margaret Cutter, 88, of Porter, passed away on Wednesday, June 17, 2009 at the VNA Hospice Center, Valparaiso.

Margaret was born on February 10, 1921 in Kentland, the daughter of Martin and Anna (Sego) Master, both of whom preceded her in death.

On August 5, 1947 in Kentland she married Leo J. Cutter, who preceded her in death in 1993.

She is survived by sons; Martin (Loma) Cutter of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Donald Cutter (Theresa Carmidy) of Valparaiso and Gary Cutter of Porter; daughters, Karen Cutter of Michigan City, Nancy Cutter (Eddie Lee Brown) of Atlanta, Ga., Linda Cutter of Michigan City; seven grandchildren, Andrew, Rachel, Michael, Ryan and Dan Cutter, Sarah Zybarth and Gretchen Handfelt; three great grandchildren, Griffin and Sienna Handfelt and Leo Cutter.

She was also preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

Margaret worked at Duneland School Corporation as a custodial engineer. Margaret was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church.

A Mass of Christian Burial, Father James Meade officiating, will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 638 N. Calumet Road, Chesterton. Interment will be at Chesterton Cemetery.

A visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday, June 22 at Edmonds & Evans Funeral Home, 517 Broadway, Chesterton, IN, with a wake service at 7 p.m. Memorials for Margaret may be made to the VNA Hospice Center.
